A Brief History of the Brome Lake Boating Club
The Brome Lake Boating Club (BLBC) was founded in 1901, with W.W. Lynch as the first president, making the BLBC the second-oldest sporting Club in the Eastern Townships. The original 1901 mandate stipulated “an association or club was to be formed with a view to recreation, instruction, and amusement, such as rowing, paddling, sailing, and racing of small craft, and for the mutual recreation, instruction and amusement of the members of the association under the name of the Brome Lake Boating Club”.
We schedule annual children’s competitions in swimming, sailing, and tennis are held with neighbouring Clubs – North Hatley, the Hermitage, Sargent’s Bay, and others.
Sailing at the Club
Our friendly, family-oriented club provides an ideal setting for summer sailing camps and race programs geared toward kids, teens and adult sailors. We aim to offer an enjoyable, safe learning adventure for participants of all ages.
Tennis Camps and Tournaments
The BLBC has an exciting program of tennis activities in store for you, whether you are a newbie or an aspiring pro. So, grab your racket and your tennis shoes, and head out to the Brome Lake Boating Club for an exceptional summer of tennis!
BLBC Day Camp
The Brome Lake Boating Club offers a unique, age-appropriate camp program tailored to your child’s interests, wellbeing and happiness.
Campers spend their entire day under the supervision of an energetic, mature and bilingual staff, all within a safe environment.
